Maryland Affordable Housing Trust Report

It’s that time of year - your Annual MAHT Report is due! Do you even know what that is? Surprisingly, many people don’t. As a Maryland Title Insurance Agent, you are required to have a MAHT (Maryland Affordable Housing Trust) account to pool settlement funds for Maryland properties, if the interest to be earned is less than a certain amount. With a MAHT account, it’s necessary to file a report each year with The Maryland Insurance Administration and The Maryland Affordable Housing Trust. This report gathers information about your company and the number of transactions you performed. In additions, you are required to report the dollar amount of your deposits into all of your Maryland accounts, as well as interest earned on behalf of MAHT.
