ALTA has announced it will require a license for the use of its title insurance forms. If you are an ALTA member, the license will be granted at no cost. If you are not an ALTA member and you write for an underwriter who requires you to use ALTA forms, then, as of January 2010, you will be required to pay to ALTA an annual licensing fee of $195.
