TitleExpress state tables for Maryland have been updated to reflect the following changes that become effective July 1, 2011:

• Increased the Talbot County Recordation Tax from $3.30 per $500.00 to $6.00 per $500.00.
• Added an additional $20 state surcharge fee to all document recording fees.

Note: Allegany County has presented a Bill entitled “An Act to Amend the Rate of Recordation Tax”. The purpose of this Bill is to increase the County Recordation Tax from $3.25 per $500.00 to $3.50 per $500.00. Since the effective date for this increase has not been released, it is not included in this update.
